Terms of use
These terms say what Arroz promises and, more importantly, what it does not promise. Using the app means agreeing to them.

What Arroz is
An iPhone app that does two things: it splits expenses between people, in household or trip groups, and it organises your personal budget for the month.
These terms cover the app and this site.
The app is a calculator, not a bank
It records and divides amounts. No money passes through it. When someone marks a settlement as paid, that is a record of what people agreed — not a transfer.
The numbers depend on whoever types them
The app adds up and divides correctly whatever it is given. If someone logs a wrong amount, the balance is wrong — and no system can tell.
Checking what was logged is up to the people using it. The Activity tab exists precisely for that: it shows who logged, edited or deleted each thing.
Your account
The account is created with Sign in with Apple. Keeping access to your device and your Apple account is your responsibility.
The name you choose is seen by every member of your groups. Choose a name you are happy to show them.
Usage analytics
The app records how it is used, anonymously, to know what to improve and what to fix. It records no amounts, no descriptions and no names, and the record is not tied to your account.
You can switch this off under Profile at any time, and the app carries on working exactly the same. What is recorded, where it is held and for how long is in the privacy policy.
Groups and other people's names
Adding someone by name means entering another person's data into the app. Whoever does that is responsible for having their agreement.
Anyone can ask for their own name to be removed from a group, either from whoever created it or from us, at support@arroz.app.
Acceptable use
Do not use Arroz for anything unlawful, or to harass another person. An expense description is a free-text field, and free text is content too: every member of the group sees it.
Do not attempt to bypass the server's access control, or to reach a group you do not belong to.
Minimum age
You must be 4 anos to use Arroz. That age matches the age rating registered on the App Store.
Pricing
Arroz is free to download and use. Some features require a subscription, offered inside the app itself, with the price shown before any charge — and nothing is charged unless you tap to subscribe.
Availability and changes
The app is offered as it is, and may be unavailable because of maintenance, a third-party failure, or something outside our reach.
Features may change or be withdrawn. A material change to these terms is announced inside the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page changes with it.
Limitation of liability
Arroz is not liable for loss arising from an amount someone logged wrongly, from an agreement between users that was not honoured, or from the service being unavailable.
Nothing in this section removes the rights Brazil's Consumer Protection Code grants you.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time by deleting your account under Profile. It cannot be undone.
- The account, the profile and the device tokens are deleted.
- Your name stops appearing, and your spot in the group becomes a vacant spot.
- The expenses you logged stay, because they are part of the other members' balances.
We may close an account that breaches these terms, giving notice where notice is possible.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Brazilian law, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring a claim where they live.
